The Guaranteed Energy Builder
Are you feeling sluggish, struggling to get through the day, falling asleep on the sofa? Increase your energy levels the easy way with the following tips:
1. Sleep well – the better your quality of sleep the better your day will be. For most of us, a dark room, a warm drink, some gentle stretching and perhaps a long lazy bath works fine.
2. Follow nature’s rules – aim to sleep when the sun goes down and rise again with it. No one would suggest that this really fits with our 24hour lifestyle but try to do it several times a week at least.
3. Get some fresh air – try going for a walk, just 15-20 minutes is plenty to clear the cobwebs. Using interval training techniques (walk fast for 3 minutes, slow down for 2 minutes and keep repeating this pattern) helps to build energy.
4. Avoid Sugar – stick to fresh foods in as near a natural state as possible.
5. Eat less – most of us eat far more than we need, go for smaller portions of high quality natural foods, your body will thank you.
6. Keep moving – no matter what you’re doing take a couple of minutes to circle your ankles, stretch your back, have a shake. Doesn’t matter what you do just keep the energy moving around your body.
7. Have a few minutes of “Me” time every day when you do NOTHING, just sit quietly and let your thoughts and worries drift away from you.
8. Listen to music – try something uplifting to get your toes tapping.
