Q. I go to the gym most days why should I do WUB?
A. Doing WUB as soon as you get out of bed ensures you start the day with no residual aches and pains and it’s also useful after a work out as a gentle cool down and balancer. Another use for WUB is after a sports injury. If you are already very fit you will be able to maintain a reasonable fitness level by using the gentle WUB stretches whilst you are incapacitated. Remember, WUB can be used on many levels. If you’re fit and strong enough try holding each exercise for a few minutes – not as easy as it sounds.
Q. I have ME and tire easily, will I be able to do WUB?
A. With ME and most conditions involving chronic fatigue symptoms you have to take each day as it comes but WUB can be as gentle as you want to make it, you put in just as much effort as you feel able to. WUB is one of the few forms of exercise that you should be able to manage even when your symptoms are really bad. If you do find it tiring then just do the first couple of exercises and build up gradually.
Q. Do I have to do WUB in the morning?
A. No, you can do the exercises whenever and wherever you want and you can adapt them to your surroundings. At our seminars we show you variations of the exercises which are great before bed. Some people like to do the exercises at work, you can even do them at your desk. It’s always good to vary your routine so try doing WUB in the park, at the bus stop, on the beach.
Q. I’m in a wheelchair, can I do WUB?
A. Yes you can. It’s impossible to cover everything on the DVD but we do show the exercises being done in a chair. If your wheelchair has removable arms then you can do most of the exercises in it. However if your chair has fixed arms it is more difficult. If you have a problem with the DVD then we recommend you attend one of our special seminars for wheelchair users which we do from time to time. Please contact us if you would like more information about this.
Q. Do I have to come on a seminar to learn?
A. No, plenty of people learn from the DVD. The exercises are really very easy to do.
Q. Can I come on the seminar if I already learnt the exercises on the DVD?
A. Yes you can. The seminar is a lot more than just the exercises. Our teachers will explain the exercises in detail and will check that you are doing them correctly of course but we also have plenty of time for your questions and specialist speakers who will talk about nutrition, other forms of exercise, healing, weight loss, decluttering, positive thinking, and image. Every seminar is different, so look to see what is available. If you think we should run a seminar in your area please get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.
Q. I’m not too steady on my feet, can I do WUB?
A. Absolutely. Watch the DVD carefully before starting and perhaps practice the exercises sitting down first of all. When you do them standing position yourself near a sturdy piece of furniture or a dining chair and use these to help you balance. You may be surprised, quite a few of our past students have found they are much steadier after doing the exercises for a few weeks.
Q. Is WUB just for old people?
A. Well, we believe you’re only as old as you feel and that practicing WUB every day will make you feel (and probably look) younger so…. Seriously, we teach WUB to all ages and all fitness levels, it works on so many different levels.
Q. What happens when I’ve been doing the exercises for a while?
A. You’ll certainly feel more flexible but there are lots of other benefits too: clearer skin, toned muscles, better stability, improved mobility of joints. Our students also report that they feel more energetic, focused and clear headed.
Q. I want more challenging exercises, what should I do?
A. WUB can be more challenging, it all depends on how hard you want to work. Once you’re completely comfortable with the programme try working with your stance a little wider, make the bend a little deeper and hold the stretch a little longer. We do have an extension programme which is covered at some of the seminars and will be available on DVD in the near future.
Q. Will I lose weight?
A. Good question. WUB exercises themselves won’t cause you to lose weight but so many of our students have reported successful weightloss that it’s clear that the exercises and the Ten Week Course is a positive influence. There’s no magic bullet, losing weight healthily, successfully and permanently will only happen if you eat nutritiously, stay active and remain positive and focused – WUB will certainly help you with all of this. We have many happy WUB students who find that our combination of motivation, goal setting, nutritional advice, walking programs, and recipes together with our unique exercise program make all the difference.
