Wake Up and WIN!
No matter how much you enjoy your job there is always that bit of the day where your brain turns to mush and you wish you were somewhere – anywhere – else.
There’s an easy solution: Switch on the kettle and while you wait for it to boil do WUB, then return to your desk with a cuppa (decaf!) and you’ll be refreshed, focused and ready to work again.
If you don’t do WUB when you first get up then try doing it before you start work and repeating whenever you need perking up.
A great tip is to do just one of the exercises before you go into a meeting – most people find Energy Builder works well, but you can do whatever works for you. Taking Flight is good to psych yourself up and boost confidence.
When time is really tight, nearly all the exercises can be done sitting at your desk. Your colleagues are sure to crack a joke or two, but you’ll have the last laugh – one of our students told us his boss was so impressed with his new found focus and increased energy that he got an unexpected promotion. His colleagues are all keen to copy him now.
WUB ON HOLIDAY
People seem to fall into two camps when it comes to exercise on holiday. It’s either “forget it, pass the sun lotion” or hit the gym hard each day until exhausted.
Once you’ve mastered the WUB program you can enjoy your holiday to the max and still do your daily exercise, even the most sybaritic holidaymaker can manage 5mins before room service delivers breakfast!
Add in a daily walk along the beach or some sightseeing, and not too many hangovers and you have the recipe for a great refreshing holiday.
WUB is fine during a normal pregnancy but of course you must check with your obstetrician before embarking on any new regime at this special time.
WUB is a very gentle and calming exercise and can be extremely beneficial during and after pregnancy and can even be used during the early stages of labour.
Once you’ve had your baby, WUB is especially useful. It’s sometimes almost impossible to find a moment to spare with a new baby in the house but even when you can’t fit in the whole five minutes, you can still benefit by doing just one or two of the exercises.
What’s more, you can start to ‘teach’ WUB exercises to your baby too! From our experience they enjoy the involvement.
Getting children involved in exercise can be difficult, but because WUB is so quick to do and incorporates some unusual ideas, we’ve found that kids really enjoy it. We’re working on specific DVDs for toddlers and teens but in the meantime let them join in with you and you’ll both benefit and have fun together.
Being confined to a wheelchair or unable to stand unaided for long can make exercise a trial, but of course its just as important, if not more so, to keep your mind and body fit. The majority of WUB exercises can be done sitting without losing their benefits.
The seated version is shown on the DVD and additional help is given in our workshops. From time to time we run workshops specifically for limited mobility students.
Wake Up and Breathe! is ideal for the 50+ group.
It’s been very carefully crafted so it can be done by practically anyone and you work just as hard as you are able to. The unique feature of WUB is that you achieve the benefits by working at your own level without experiencing any discomfort whatsoever.
Regardless of your age, current fitness level and health concerns you can join the hordes of people already benefiting from this amazing super-effective and gentle exercise program.
WUB IN BED
Yes, it is possible, but only as a last resort.
Some of the exercises can be adapted to be done in a reclined or supine position. If you are confined to bed experiment and feel free to get in touch for advice.
