Let’s face it—life in the hectic 21st century is stressful. Most of us hold jobs that call for high levels of concentration and much forbearance. We spend much of our time with people who drive us crazy. If we are in supervisory positions, we must use high-level people skills and techniques to keep our work teams functioning in spite of personality conflicts. It’s no wonder we have a lot of headaches!

As if that weren’t enough, we must try to keep abreast of stress-producing political, governmental, and foreign-relations situations that keep us on edge. Using head massage to relieve headaches instead of taking loads of painkillers is a very good move. It’s simple to do, takes very little time, and the relief it brings is always very, very welcome.

Indian Head Massage

Many masseurs follow Indian head massage, which employs essentially the same steps as the ones listed below except that the Indian healers begin with neck massage first, and more of the massage is devoted to the trapezius muscle. Ayurvedic healers have used head massage for centuries, but in recent years it has become popular all over the world as a way to cure our stress-induced pain and discomfort. Massage has always played an important role in Indian medicine; it is said to balance the systems and help individuals find balance. The Indian mother typically uses head massage daily on her children to calm their spirits as well as to keep skin and hair healthy. In India, barbers massage the heads of their customers. Some Indian masseurs include the pouring of warmed oils over the foreheads of their clients.

Massaging Your Own Head for Relief of Stress and Headaches

Massage is great for relief; however, if it’s done regularly, it is also excellent for prevention. It’s soothing, relaxing, and calming and will ward off headaches.

Go for the temple area first. Use the insides of your hands to apply pressure while you rotate them.

Next is the forehead. Using the third finger on each hand, massage around the temple area.

Now, massage bones and muscles around your eyes.

Under your cheek bones, with your jaw relaxed, massage the muscles using all your fingers.

Now you’re ready for the back of your head. At the base, use your fingers and thumbs spread as widely as possible, make small circles at the base of the neck.

Using the same circular motions, move on up the head, going over the top and then the sides, making certain to give plenty of attention to the area behind the ears.

Now massage your ears, including the lobes, sides, and the area next to the spot where the lobe attaches. Repeat the ear massage at least ten times.

It’s a good practice to follow head massage with neck massage for best effects. A friend can perform a massage on your head. Just make certain he/she follows the steps and is thorough.

It may be difficult for an individual, no matter what age, to admit they need help in controlling their problem with anger. However this is the initial step to treatment and learning how to control these emotions. Effective anger management help is assistance in discovering methods or strategies for managing anger problems or if fortunate enough, eliminating them all together. Effective anger management help will equip an individual to face their anger issues with a better attitude, as well as develop skills to control their reactions to confrontational situations.

Three common reactions to a stressful or irritating situation are bottling up emotions, getting defensive or lashing out. Neither of these reactions is healthy or a solution to managing anger issues. When an individual decides to bottle up their emotions of anger instead of seeking anger management help, there can be several negative consequences. Bottling up anger may be okay for the moment but the individual will soon discover the problem does not go away. Refusing to deal with the situation may eventually unleash negative thoughts which cause the individual to become even angrier. Bottled up anger can also transform into resentment which can last for an eternity. Without dealing with the problem, a person may accept the blame and guilt, causing them to feel discouraged and bad about themselves. Effective anger management help would help an individual work on these attempts to cope with challenging situations.

Getting defensive is a common reaction for people who have problems controlling their temper. Reacting quickly to upsetting encounters without considering the repercussions is normal for people with anger issues. Acting on raw emotions of hurt or pain will produce very hostile reactions and likely promote hostile responses. This is not effective in dealing with such situations. Effect anger management help would encourage people not to be defensive but rather evaluate situations before acting on them.

Situations which provoke anger often cause people to lash out. Using physical or verbal aggressions, individuals act on impulse. These negative impulsive reactions produce negative consequences and usually results which are later regretted. It is easy for an angry person to lash out but it is not quite so easy to find positive results from such behavior. Lashing out doesn’t resolve problems, rather causes more problems. In the end an individual will realize that their rash behavior didn’t solve a thing. Effective anger management help will teach the individual to control their anger and restrain from lashing out.

Anger management help can be effective if people are serious and dedicated to working on their problems. There are many sources of anger management help available today, much of it free to interested individuals. It is essential for people with anger problems to realize their need for anger management help. Until they are ready to accept responsibility for their actions and choose to make a difference, anger management help will not be effective. Committing to an anger management program will ultimately help an individual to effectively control their temper and logically handle confrontational situations.

Our feet and legs are wondrous appendages. They take us where we want to go; without them, our lives are very limited. But tired feet and tired legs can also be our worst enemies. They can ache like a sore tooth, only worse. They will not let you relax and go to sleep. They take over! It’s impossible to think of much else when tired feet and tired legs are screaming at you. Heavy legs make the days go much longer.

Massaging the Legs

The good news is that you can relieve tired legs by taking the time to massage them frequently. It can also go a long way toward relieving the pain in your legs. These are techniques you can use yourself. However, you may also ask a friend to do these steps.

If you truly want to pamper your legs, use a little bit of essential oil or you favorite cream on your hands so they will move over your legs more easily.

Starting at the shin and massaging lightly with the index finger and thumb, apply only a little pressure.

Move upward, increasing pressure as you go. When you have reached the top, make a circle with your hands around the top of the leg and move downward to the toes. Make your motions fluid. You should push as you move both directions. Repeat three times.

Knead the thigh muscles then move downward with the kneading movements. After you have kneaded the inner thigh, move to the outer thigh. Move to the back of the leg and start with the ankle, using the index and middle finger.

Knead the calf and work up to the buttocks, increasing the pressure as you reach the larger thigh muscles.

Make a circle with your hands and push down the leg and to the toes.

Once you have covered one leg with these movements, repeat all the steps on the other leg.

Perform all these steps three times on each leg.

Cover your legs and relax your body.

Massaging the Feet

Before you begin to massage your own feet, it’s a good idea to relieve your tired feet by soaking them in warm water for ten minutes or so. You may want to pamper your feet by putting a few drops of essential oil or bath salts in the water. Dry them thoroughly before you begin the massage.

Use cream or oil on your hands and stroke the top of one foot first, moving toward the ankle.

Next move to the sole of the foot, making your massage strokes gentle at first and then increasing pressure.

Using gentle circular motions, move your thumb and fingers over the bottom of your feet. You might want to increase the pressure on the heel or ball of your feet. Move from top to bottom and include the sides of the feet.

Gently rotate the foot with one hand while you hold it with the other. Begin at the ankle and then move to the ball.

Knead the sole with your fingers.

Roll your toes between thumb and forefinger, sliding fingers to the ends of the toes.

Go over the sole one more time with circular motions.

How often you massage your legs and feet will depend on how much wear and tear they receive in a day’s time, but you can do this as often as every day. It is enlivening and revitalizing and will make your life better!

Most of us have neck stress from time to time, and sometimes we suspect that we have some kind of disease. That may be true, but it rarely is a disease of its own. It’s a symptom that is caused by something else, and it can very often be successfully relieved.

You can feel pain in your neck in several different places, beginning with the bottom of the head and extending to the top of the shoulders. Sometimes it seems to radiate down the back or even the arms. You’ve probably experienced pain, especially early in the morning, that limits how much you can move your head. It tends to occur more often in people over 50. A headache often accompanies the pain in the neck area. Relaxing the neck muscles will often bring headache relief.

It’s caused by something that has strained the neck. Slouching is one culprit, for example. Have you ever painted a ceiling and had pain for a long time? Sleeping in a position that puts strain on the neck is a common cause. You may be putting a strain on the neck muscles causing soreness or even a spasm of those muscles. Swelling of the neck joints is another common outcome of a strain on the neck. Injuries such as a fall from a height or even a car accident sometimes bring on chronic neck pain.

Treatment

If you wake up with a crick in your neck, you just don’t want to start your day. It is so painful and so distracting that it’s hard to think of anything else. You often feel very tired, and the tiredness in addition to the pain in the neck will limit how productive you are. A short self massage of the neck may be all that’s necessary to give you relief; it can also be a reviving experience. You can do a massage by yourself; however, having a friend help is a good idea, also.

The trapezius muscle is often the offending one. It does several things: moves the shoulder blade backward; rotates the shoulder blade to turn the arm up; moves the shoulder blade vertically; brings the head and neck backward; rotates and bends the neck to the side. Most importantly, it plays an important role in neck flexibility. If you work at a desk or particularly at a computer for long hours, you know what it means for the upper trapezius to hurt and be sore.

To manipulate the trapezius muscle and relieve neck stress, try this:

First of all, find the muscle. It may not be too hard, especially if it’s sore. It’s that muscle that runs all the way across the shoulders, so reach one arm across the body and put your hand on the other shoulder. Knead the muscles, beginning at the base of the neck. Use rhythmic movements, moving out as you go. Use enough pressure that it hurts a little. Then go to the other side and repeat this.

Having a friend use his/her thumbs to get into the muscle and use rhythmic massaging movements is particularly helpful. Even if it hurts a little, it will feel better afterwards. You will need to repeat it in a few hours because the pain is likely to return.

Prevention: Analyze your daily movements, especially at the computer, and try to find a way to alter them to avoid this strain on your neck

It is known to relieve the physical body of all the tensions and pressures that have been absorbed after a hard day’s work. To be able to enjoy its therapeutic effect, using equipment is necessary. Several shops and stores sell the special shower equipment that brings about the rejuvenating experience. They can be found in the leading shopping centers and those online shopping websites too. True enough, your options are never limited.

A Glaring Truth

The fact is that not everyone is able to afford the expenses that come around just so he can be in the spa at all times. Even if you earn your own money, the cost of getting a spa massage can truly be shocking. How much more if you want to do it every now and then? However, you have an alternative option. You can enjoy the same effect and benefits even as you stay at home. By purchasing the right type of equipment, you will be able to enjoy your private chances of retreating into a spa experience within the confines of your own abode at anytime. Come to think of it, a relaxing shower after a tedious day of work is sure to wash away every single trace of stress from your body. After which, you will be able to come out from the shower room clean, refreshed, and energized.

Setting the Mood

You can do some work in your own bathroom. If your funds allow you, better set up some theme into your bath area. Put on some wallpaper that will invite a positive atmosphere and one that will set a peaceful mood. Affix lights that allow a soft glow. Dim lights are perfect to employ since they permit you to adjust the brightness mode. Add some scented candles that will bring about the pleasing aroma. Certainly, it will enhance your emotional relaxation. The shower can be fixed in its most comfortable place. You may choose between the hot or cold water flows depending on how you want things to go on. Don’t forget to play some soothing music too! The use of essential oils likewise counts as a great idea in rejuvenating yourself. If you have a bath tub, let the water bubble so you may soak in there all you want.

The Nature of the Showers

The showers come in different types, sizes, shapes, and colors. The equipment may cost a bit expensive but you will surely find out why it is a must-have. One thing is for sure though it will let you save more money in the long run.
